Redlands Ticket is Instant $1 Million Winner


SACRAMENTO – California has a new millionaire and his name is Tong L.! Tong is the 11th instant $1 million winner since the California Lottery’s $250 Million Cash Spectacular Scratchers® ticket launched. He claimed his winning ticket today at the Lottery’s Inland Empire District Office. When asked how he would use his winnings, Tong said he would put it toward his retirement and give some to his children. 

The lucky ticket was purchased at the Kmart located at 1625 West Redlands Boulevard in Redlands (San Bernardino County). The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the top prize-winning ticket.

Sales of the Lottery’s first-ever $10 Scratchers game continue to be brisk, and with more sales come more big winners! There are still a whopping 20 instant $1 million prizes to be won out of the more than 10.6 million available prizes $250 Million Cash Spectacular offers. Since the ticket first went on sale on September 30, more than 160,000 tickets purchased by California Lottery players have won a minimum of $100 or more. Of the total winning numbers, eight tickets have won $50,000 prizes and 17 tickets have claimed $10,000 prizes.

The $250 Million Cash Spectacular Scratchers ticket is part of the Lottery’s continued effort to give out more prizes, create more winners and earn more money for education. The oversized ticket features a unique holographic design and, in total, offers more than a quarter of a billion dollars in prizes. To play, simply match any of “Your Numbers” to any of the six “Winning Numbers” and win that prize. Uncover a “star” symbol and win $100 instantly. Uncover a “WIN” symbol and win all 20 prizes automatically! Overall game odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.50. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 1.2 million.
